5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, Inexpensive little Unit, April 23, 2012

I know nothing about the various makers of OBDII/Bluetooth interfaces, including both their quality and reputation. After sorting out the cheapest and most expensive, I settled on this one that was as physically compact as possible (so I don't hit it with my knees, etc.)

In the box I received the unit itself, and one of those smaller-than-standard CDs with the manual on it. Being a man, and figuring it couldn't be that hard, I plugged it into my ODB port, waited a few seconds, then paired it via my HTC Vivid. I had to guess the bluetooth unlock pin since I didn't have a machine handy to ready the CD. I knew already, and android reminds you that most are 0000 or 1234, so I tried both of those. It turned out to be 1234, so I was happy to move on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good hardware, poor software., June 4, 2012

If you're planning on just using the OBD2 scanner, then this is worth it. I was able to connect it to my EEE 901 netbook over bluetooth in matter of minutes, and have had no previous experience doing so. However, if you are on the fence about this one and the included disc tips your decision, I would advise looking elsewhere. The disc contains what looks like a last minute attempt to include software for the sake of including software. There are many trial versions of applications, and an instructional text file written in very poor English. Out of curiosity, I scanned the files with AVG and found multiple viruses.

Pros: Hardware works as promised, cheap entry into DIY car troubleshooting

Cons: Included software isn't worth the disc it is burned on, and could infect your computer.
