I have been using this as a replacement for an aging 4850 which seemed to be raising case temps more as of late.. The specs on this card are not much different than the aforementioned 4850 with the exception of better multi monitor support. That was the greatest reason for the purchase of a newer gpu. This "Flex" version has included the cable adapters to make multi monitors a quick setup without finding and ordering at no telling the cost of connectors you may need. Sapphire is the only vendor offering the Flex package. Currently on idle it's at 36*C (with side panel off for unrelated cleaning purposes) and the highest I've seen it is at 51*C while gaming extensively on 3x 22" Gateway monitors. It's in a M/59 NZXT case full of fans, working as well as could be expected. It does require 2 slots, a single pci 6pin connector, and is 7.25" in length. As always download the latest drivers from AMD site instead of disk, for best results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some problems., March 19, 2012

I remember back in the day, if I wanted a video card that wasn't going to have any glitches I would get an ATI card. In fact, the ATI based XFX 5670 card I've been using the past couple years has worked well for me with only choppy playback of HD camcorder video as an issue. This was not a big issue as I edit HD video to DVD anyway. I bought this Sapphire card as an upgrade to use my desktop computer as a home theater PC. I planned on driving not only the desktop monitor but also 2 HDTVs with the video sent to each device individually one at a time. In other words only one display would be in use at a time. This flex card seemed like the perfect card for that.

There were several problems however. First minor problem; when the computer boots the video card would default to one of the HDTVs instead of the DVI port with the monitor on it to display the POST messages. I wouldn't get any display on the computer monitor until the Windows drivers loaded, unless I unplugged the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Lets my games play at full graphic settings, December 10, 2011

I am not a big gamer or computer whiz, but I don't like paying more for less. This graphics card was the choice for me. It had the built in AMD 3D, and the ability to use multiple monitors, and TV's, for the same or lower price than the other cards. And did this without the need to buy other components.
I installed it in a new Gateway DX4350, which has 6 /2.80HHz processor's, with 6 Gigs memory and a 1.5 TB hard drive. Before the card, the graphics settings on my PC racing games were set at the lowest settings. Now they are set at their highest and look and drive great.
Before the graphics card I would run the Computer performance tool on windows 7 64bit, and my computer graphic was about 4.5 if I remember correctly. And that is a on a scale from 1.0 to 7.9. Now it is 7.4.
My set up uses a Samsung 9000C 3D TV for a monitor. It all works great with nothing more than the HDMI hook ups.
The only other thing I added to my set up was memory. I am running 8 GIGS of the... Read more
